WE'VE GOT A PROBLEM.
The creative and film industries lack diversity in all stages of the production process. This can be clearly seen when we watch the media on our screens, there is a lack of representation and when there is representation it often misses the mark.
This is because the people that produce our media also lack diversity. Think about it. How many female cinematographers do you come across? Or how many directors of colour? Our industry is specifically guilty of being a boys club and pushing genders and ethnicities into certain crew roles.
The same goes for clients. Most people who have worked in advertising have come across clients who reject talent for sexist and racist reasons.

WE’RE DOING OUR PART.
We can change this behaviour together and make our industry a more inclusive place behind and in front of the camera. Here’s how we want to do our part.
We are actively pushing back on discriminatory requests from agencies, clients and partners. If you are going to reject diverse talent or will feel uncomfortable with a female Cinemaphotographer, take a hike.
We are proactively crewing our productions with a diverse crew. We are also providing diverse talent options that are diverse in ethnicity, gender, orientation and age.
We are actively providing opportunities to minorities. It’s ingrained in our industry to keep people boxed in. If you have an interest in a certain crew role please reach out even if you feel you’re not ready yet. If we don’t provide opportunities to less experienced people who want to make a change then our industry won’t change.
If you’re an agency or client who shares these values we’d love to hear what you are doing to make a difference. And if you’re a minority working in the industry we encourage you to reach out to work with us.
